Summer and Autumn Activities
Powerun Adventures is a homestead kennel with ca. 60 sled dogs, mostly Alaskan huskies. We have been competing all over the Europe with our dogs for over 20 years, and have plenty of championships in all the three distances /sprint, mid distance and long distance). We are again the Finnish champions in long distance in 2019. Our main focus is always on the dogs welfare and we have received also several times the “Best dog care” award, which is the most valuable prize among the mushers.
Our home and kennel are ca. 12km away from Ylläsjärvi and 20km from Äkäslompolo, in a village called Luosu. We are offering dog sledding tours in the winter time and kennel visits, husky hiking and wagon rides as a summer and autumn activities. We are happy to introduce our dogs and our lifestyle for you. 7 Day Hiking and Riding
Come hiking in the beautiful Pallas-Ylläs national park and visit at the Abisko nature resort, enjoy the views from the saddle while riding with amazing icelandic horses in the lappish wilderness areas. Get to know the lappish lifestyle while visiting at a husky farm.
For the whole week you will be guided by a wilderness guide and nature lover. We have also chosen the best restaurants with good local food.
Tasty, fun and full of action and amazing views, that is what this holiday is made about!
Tour dates: 23.–30.7.2022 and 20.–27.8.2022.
For groups (4–8 persons) other dates are also possible.

Kennel Visit
Welcome to meet us and our dogs at the kennel!
You will learn a lot about the life of the sled dogs, how the puppies are being trained and how the year in a husky kennel is organized.
We will explain and introduce you to the ways of how we take care of the dogs. Alaskan huskies’ health and mentality is our priority number one always, and we provide individual care for each dog.
Duration: 1,5 – 2 hours.
Price: 39€/person. 130€/family (4-5 members)
Kennel Visit
Welcome to meet us and our dogs at the kennel!
You will learn a lot about the life of the sled dogs, how the puppies are being trained and how the year in a husky kennel is organized.
We will explain and introduce you to the ways of how we take care of the dogs. Alaskan huskies’ health and mentality is our priority number one always, and we provide individual care for each dog.
Duration: 1,5 – 2 hours.

Husky Hiking
After a small briefing and introduction of the kennel and dogs, we will take some of them with us for a nice afternoon walk to the forest. Some dogs will follow us running free and some are coming along on a leash.
We will head to a nearby lake where you can swim with the dogs, and we will have some snacks with us to make a small picnic. Surely a memorable day for all dog-lovers!
Duration: 3 hours
Price: 85€ / person
Husky Hiking
After a small briefing and introduction of the kennel and dogs, we will take some of them with us for a nice afternoon walk to the forest. Some dogs will follow us running free and some are coming along on a leash.
We will head to a nearby lake where you can swim with the dogs, and we will have some snacks with us to make a small picnic. Surely a memorable day for all dog-lovers!

ATV Ride
Want to see the sled dogs in action during summer? After meeting all our dogs, we will prepare a strong team of 16 sled dogs in front of an ATV. We will do a nice and safe 7 km ride pulled by the powerful dogs. This is why we are called Powerun! Temperature limit: +10 degrees.
You can participate in unharnessing the dogs and we will have warm drinks and snacks in a tepee (kota) after the tour.
Duration: 2,5 hours
Price for adults (above 15 yrs): 130€ person
Price for children: 90€
ATV Ride
Want to see the sled dogs in action during summer? After meeting all our dogs, we will prepare a strong team of 16 sled dogs in front of an ATV. We will do a nice and safe 7 km ride pulled by the powerful dogs. This is why we are called Powerun! Temperature limit: +10 degrees.

During the three hours visit we will take you for a deep dive into our life and our way of getting on the same page with our dogs to see how they understand us and how we understand them. At some point we will make pancakes by the fire in our wooden teepee hut. This is always a private program so one family at the time can book the program.
Duration: 2,5 – 3,5 hours
