To start you are shown how to control the sleigh which is very simple and easy to do. The dogs are very noisy and just want to run and run and run....... Once kitted up, I advise you bring inner and out gloves, goggles, Balaclava or similar like a gator. If you want to video a GoPro on a head band is best as it is very cold and taking your gloves off to operate a smart phone at 30km an hour is not recommended. There are two types of sleigh, individual and pair. The latter, one person drives while the other sits wrapped in furs. The drive is about 20 km with a half way swop to change over driver / passenger. The route consist of cross country, up hill and down Dale, twists rising and falling trails, with open areas across frozen lakes and swamps. The dogs keep running on and on and on never tiring, always wanting to go faster and faster. Once back at the husky camp you help to unleash the dogs after which they are feed and watered. Then it’s our turn as you all enter a wood cabin with a huge log fire for mhot blueberry juice and home made snacks and learn about the dogs and their welfare which is at a very high standard. All in all it was a great experience being close to nature and interacting with the dogs. …

  This was our 2nd time to Powerun. From arriving until the moment we left the whole experience was truly fantastic. We were greeted by Riku who took us to the... read more huskies. We went on a magical 10km ride through breathtaking scenery. Riku then showed us round introducing the dogs and puppies and showing us the kennels and how the dogs are cared for. We sat in a hut with log fire, hot berry juice, gingerbread and pastries and hearing the incredible stories of the races Riku has competed in. All of the dogs are so well looked after that is clear to see. The whole experience was incredible and personal as we were the only group of 7 there. Can’t recommend Powerun enough. We will definitely be returning on our next trip to Lapland. …

You can see that the owners really care about their dogs and giving their guests a great experience. The animals are very well trained. We got a few instructions and shortly afterwards were driving through the snow-covered forest. We stopped near a frozen lake where a fire was made. We all got some hot lunch and could relax a bit before we drove back. 

We couldn't have imagined having a better day in the countryside. Highly recommended if you are in the area.
